주요연구분야

1) 프로테오믹스 : 생물체는 주어진 환경속에서 생존을 위해 최적화된 단백질체 구성을 갖는다. 이러한 단백질체의 구성을 비교 분석함으로써 환경에 대응하는 생물체의 적응 메카니즘을 이해할 수 있다. 본 연구팀은 수소 발생 해양 고세균을 이용한 프로테오믹스 연구를 통해 수소발생에 최적화된 미생물을 개발하고자 하며, 또한 유류분해 균주 컨소시엄의 메타 프로테옴 분석을 통해서 유류 오염 지역의 정화에 적합한 미생물군을 발굴하고자 한다.
2) 신규 타겟 및 신약 발굴 : 최근 FDA 승인이 되는 신약의 수가 점차 감소되는 추세이다. 본 연구팀은 세포이미징 기반 단백질-단백질 결합 기술과 단백질-화합물 결합기술을 바탕으로 신규 타겟과 약물을 발굴하고 있으며, 발굴된 약물의 경우 공동연구팀과 함께 최적화를 수행중이다. 최종적으로 신규 타겟/약물 패키지를 개발하는 것이 연구의 목표이다.
